StepItUp.London Terms and Conditions

Welcome to StepItUp.London's Terms & Conditions.

We use the terms "we", "our" and "us" throughout our Terms and Conditions and our website to refer to StepItUp.London.

New Members

When creating a new account online or when you attend a class in person for the first time, you must register with us so that we have you personal details and emergency contact details. You will also have to complete our physical activity readiness questionnaire. This is a simple set of questions which will ascertain whether you should seek your doctor's consent before beginning one of our classes. This must be completed honestly and to the best of your knowledge. If there is any change to your health in the future, you must let us know and complete a new questionnaire.

Our classes may involve strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to, interval training, muscular strength, cardiovascular conditioning and aerobic training. To take part in a class, you should be in good medical condition and not suffer from any known disability or condition that would prevent or limit participation. Your enrolment and participation in any class is voluntary. Our instructors reserve the right to prevent you from joining any activity if they believe that you are not able to safely participate without further advice and/or written permission from a medical professional however, you remain solely liable for your own health.

You agree and warrant that your participation in a class is on the understanding that if any injuries occur as a result of your failing to provide correct or up-to-date information about your health or any other condition that may prohibit your participation that we (and our instructors) are released from any liability now or in the future from any injuries or conditions that you may obtain from such participation.

You are required to manage your own membership account (whether joining on-line or in person) and ensure you provide us with all the correct information such as name, address, valid and current email address and correct date of birth.

We will email you about bookings and cancellations but will only send you promotional emails if you consent to our doing so in line with our Privacy Policy. You can change your consent at any time via your account profile. It is your responsibility to be aware of and manage your bookings and adhere to our Terms and Conditions in respect of Booking and Cancellations.

We do not allow for multiple bookings for the same class under one person's account. You are not permitted to share your account or membership with anyone else. For safeguarding, health and safety and insurance purposes, we must have a record for each person that attends classes with their own account so that we ensure we have correct health information for each individual and their emergency contact information.

Booking and Cancellations

You must be 16 or over and you must include a current and valid email address on your account. Please advise us if your email address changes.

You can book classes online or simply turn up on the day. Our classes are limited to a maximum number of people, on a first-come first served basis with booked classes taking priority and so you may be turned away if the class is full. The maximum number of attendees for any one class is available to view on our website on the booking page.

There are two ways to pay:

1. ONLINE: Please refer to the timetable online to book, using the "Book Now" button alongside the class you wish to attend. If you are new to StepItUp.London, you will be asked to create an online account. You can pay for classes individually or pre-purchase credit. Free classes are available for pre-booked credit (terms and conditions apply). All classes must be paid for online at time of booking as we do not allow for 'unpaid' bookings unless you turn up in person; or

2. IN PERSON: You can turn up to classes without a booking and pay in person, or use pre-paid credit if available on your account, but we cannot guarantee you will get a space if the class is already full. If credit is unavailable, payment is via cash or card only. Please refer to the booking page to see the maximum number of attendees available for a class and to ensure that the class you wish to attend is not already fully booked.

We reserve the right to retain payment for any missed class bookings. If you know that you cannot make a booked class, please let us know at least 12 hours before so that we can provide your slot to another member. If you cancel a booked class at least 12 hours before it is due to take place, we will place the unused credit back on to your account. We do not offer refunds for unused credit. All credit remains available on your account with no expiry.

We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that you are informed as soon as possible about any changes to a booked class, e.g. cancellations that are outside of our control. If you have paid for the class and we are unable to provide you with the same, we will refund you for the amount paid by way of credit on your account. We are not liable for any expenses or costs that you pay for in relation to a booked class in the event that we do cancel.

If you make a payment using someone else's bank account or credit/debit card, please ensure that you have their permission to do so.

Pre-booked payments cannot be transferred to or shared with another person.

Fees may be increased from time to time and we reserve the right to pass on the rate of VAT to you. We will endeavour to give you at least one months' notice of any increase in fees.

We reserve the right to refuse you entry if you turn up late to class and miss the warm-up. This is for your health and safety, to respect other class attendees who have arrived on time and to not disrupt the flow of the class.

You must stay for the full duration of the class so that you are safely cooled-down at the end.

If you are unwell during a class or need to leave early due to illness, you must speak to the instructor who will advise you on next steps and record you leaving early from class in our Accident Book. If you have an injury whilst attending a class, you must report it to the instructor who will record the incident in our Accident Book.

Steps are provided for your use but you are expected to wear appropriate clothing for working out in classes, especially the correct footwear (i.e. trainers or sports shoes). Items such as jeans and flip-flops or clothing that could catch on equipment are not acceptable as they could pose a health and safety risk. Instructors have the discretionary power to ask you to leave the class if you wear inappropriate clothing or footwear.

Personal belongings are brought in to the class at your own risk and we do not accept any liability, loss or damage to any such items.

Opening hours, access and the timetable are subject to change.

Abuse of membership - for example, repeated non-attendance to booked classes, deliberate damage to or misuse of equipment, physical or verbal abuse of instructors, abuse or sharing of membership accounts and conduct that is commercially detrimental to us will result in the immediate termination of your membership. No refunds will be given and you will be liable for any outstanding fees, repair costs and legal fees.

We do not allow you to share accounts or memberships due to your health and safety and insurance purposes. The person attending the class must be the person listed on the account and booking. If a person impersonates another member so as to use their membership or account, then they shall be asked to leave the premises and both the attendee and the account holder may be banned from future classes.

We reserve the right to cancel or suspend your membership if at any time:

1. You seriously or repeatedly break our terms and conditions; or

2. You or your guests use rude or abusive language or violent behaviour or if your behaviour puts other attendees or instructors at risk of harm or affects their interests in any way.

If we terminate or cancel your membership for any of the reasons listed here, we will not refund any payments that you have made.

We are not legally obliged to compensate you for any service, facility or item of equipment that is unavailable for reasons of health and safety.

We will not compensate you for loss, damage or personal injury where no negligence on our part can be proven. From time to time, we may take photographs and videos of classes in the studio for marketing purposes on (including but not limited to) leaflets, the website, newsletters and on social media platforms. By booking and attending our classes, you consent to these images being collected, however members must inform us in writing if they wish to opt-out. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more information.
